Product Description Sony Pictures Hancock (Blu-ray)
Amazon.com iHancock/i turns the standard superhero movie inside-out: The title character (Will Smith) can fly, has superstrength, and is invulnerable, but he's also a sloppy, alcoholic jerk who causes millions of dollars in property damage whenever he bothers to fight crime. When he saves the life of a public-relations agent named Ray (Jason Bateman, iArrested Development/i), Ray decides to improve Hancock's image--starting by having Hancock surrender himself to the authorities and go to prison for his lawless behavior. The idea is that once he's in prison, the crime rate will go up, and people will start to realize Hancock might be of value after all. This is only the first act of iHancock/i--from there, the movie takes several clever turns that shouldn't be revealed. iHancock/i isn't a great movie (among other things, director Peter Berg overuses close-ups with a hand-held camera to a degree that may cause motion sickness), but it is an extremely entertaining one. The script, which holds together far better than most superhero movies, has a propulsive plot, good dialogue, some compassion for its characters, and even an actual idea or two. The spectacular action at least gestures towards obeying the laws of physics, which actually makes the special effects more vivid. The three leads (Smith, Bateman, and Charlize Theron as Ray's wife, Mary) deftly balance the movie's mixture of comedy, action, and drama. All in all, a smart subversive twist on a genre that all too often takes itself all too seriously. --iBret Fetzer/i br p span class="h1"strongStills from IHancock/I (click for larger image)/strong/span table border="0" cellpadding="4" width="100%" cellspacing="4"p p tr align="center" valign="top" td img border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/Hancock/Hancock_1sm.jpg"br /tdp tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/Hancock/Hancock_2sm.jpg"br p /td tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/Hancock/Hancock_3sm.jpg"br /td/td tr align="center" valign="top" tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/Hancock/Hancock_4sm.jpg"br p /td tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/Hancock/Hancock_5sm.jpg"br /td tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/Hancock/Hancock_6sm.jpg"br tr align="center" valign="top" tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/Hancock/Hancock_7sm.jpg"br p /td tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/Hancock/Hancock_8sm.jpg"br /td tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/Hancock/Hancock_9sm.jpg"br /td/tr/table

Hancock (Unrated) [Blu-ray] January 6, 2009 br /Good DVD Will Smith is at his usual best. Entertaining and I like the characters and plot. br /br /I paid a few dollars more than it costs at Wal-Mart though.br /
A Fast Fun Ride! January 6, 2009 Hancock is a good movie for teens and adults as younger viewers may not be able to take in the whole scope of the movie or appreciate some of the more adult humor.br /br /This version is unrated but I'd give it a PG-13.br /br /There are periods of profanity and violence so if you are squeamish about watching or are squeamish about your children watching then I would not recommend this movie for you.br /br /Other reviewers may have stated that Hancock was no Superman or Batman and that is true in the same way that Alien is no Jaws or vice versa even though they are both monster-type movies. I don't think Hancock was trying to be Superman ... it is what it is and it should be taken as such.br /br /If you watch Hancock and DON'T compare it to another superhero flick or pick apart every little camera angle I think you will enjoy it as it is funny and the ending is touching!br /br /Just try it! Don't listen to everyone else says and miss out on a movie that you may REALLY like! If you don't want to spend the money buying it just yet then rent it or borrow it from a friend but at least give it a spin!
Classic SuperHero Movie.... January 6, 2009 Done totally serious, with an (as usual) amazing Will Smith performence.br /The man can act in ANY role and make you believe.
