This set of films is Clint at his very best as stone-faced, hard as nails, police detective, "Dirty" Harry Callahan!!!
Granted, the last 2 are not as good as the first three, BUT...the set IS a real piece of Hollywood history, and really enjoyable drama. I mean, who can forget that line..."This is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world. In all this excitement, I can't remember if I fired six shots or only five. So, you gotta ask yourself one question...Do ya feel lucky, punk? Well, do ya?"
In my opinion, the stunt work, SFX, story, action, characterization, and talented actors (even the "bad guys" are fantastic!), this set of films has it all. The only people who wouldn't enjoy Dirty Harry's adventures are the same liberal weirdos who loved "Reds" or "Heaven's Gate" or "Sleepless in Seattle"...LOL!!!
Buy them, you won't regret it...BUT...These movies are NOT for young children to watch under any circumstances...Not "dirty" but really really really violent...After all, Clint..."Dirty" Harry...doesn't carry that great big .44 Magnum around to use as it a paperweight!!!!

If you like his police movies, you sure need this set. Has all is best. The only bad think was, it made me want to buy a Smith like his, in 45 Colt.

Watching this series again makes me wish we could send "Dirty Harry" to Congress! It's a classic "Good vs. Evil" action series and it's nice to temporarily re-enter a world where the "Good" wins - regardless of how hard it was to prevail.
Also, I'm glad I got the set before somebody foolishly supposes that they can do an remake or "upgrade" of this character!
